East Grand Rapids is D3 CHAMPS! The East Grand Rapids Pioneers win their 4th consecutive MHSAA Football Championship. The Pioneers defeated Orchard Lake St Mary’s 24-21 at Ford Field. The Pioneers scored a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter to tie the game up at 7-7. On the ensuing kickoff, Gary Hunter returned the ball 63 yards to set up a chance for OLSM to regain the lead. East Grand Rapids defense stood tall. OLSM’s Robert Bolden completed a pass to Allen Robinson for 28 yards to put the ball at the East Grand Rapids 1 yard line.
